Hold your horses..

Ignore my last post.

Never Forget being published is now on hold.

Let me explain. If you're on Twitter and active in the writing community, you'll know about #PitMad - previously known as Pitch Wars. If you aren't on Twitter, you're about to get an explanation within an explanation. Basically, you get a shiny, polished manuscript and pitch it in 140 characters, including the genre & using the hashtag, PitMad.

Sounds easy, right?

WRONG. How do you put (in my case) 67,500 words into 140 CHARACTERS? With great blooming difficulty.

I'm going off track. Anyway, yesterday was a PitMad day. I have a shiny, polished manuscript. I umm'ed, ahh'ed and ooh'ed over it until my amazing friend Dani Morales (you may blame her) said to me 'what if you wake up tomorrow and wish you'd done it? You never know unless you try.'

So I pitched. Several times.

And, to my great shock/horror/excitement I had five requests from editors & an agent. (unfortunately we have to cut it to three, because three editors were from the same publishing house :P )

So last night I set about - yes, I admit it - googling how to write a query letter, because I had - and still don't - have A BLOODY CLUE. But I did it, and since I've had a request for the full manuscript, I must have done something right, right?

Either that, or the editors can't resist Alec either. ;) he likes that thought.

That was my deal. If I got a request for a full, release would go on hold, including the blog tour. Don't get me wrong, it was a hard decision to even pitch in the first place. So much work has been put into this blog tour - from Dani organising it, to people advertising the sign up link to the bloggers who have signed up. And, the readers I've been teasing for months.

And I feel SO bad. But I can't be sorry, because I can't apologise for my dreams.

That's why today I'll be querying more editors and agents. Why not? I have a list of publishers and agents that accept New Adult so I'm just going to go for it. If it doesn't work out, Never Forget will be released, self-published, ASAP. I promise you that.

I'm incredibly thankful for all the bloggers who had signed up for the tour and even more thankful for your kind words of understanding and support, and well wishes in my jump into the traditional publishing world. And I'm of course thankful to my readers for your interest in this book. You were the final push in my confidence to pitch Lexy & Alec's story, and I hope that when the day comes, you'll love it as much as I do.

If, in my crazy dreams, I get a deal for Never Forget, the chances are the only book I'll choose to immediately self-publish is the sixth book in The Mauve Legacy. (No, I haven't forgotten about Lily.

And I've actually talked enough now. Again.. Guys, thank you. I'm off to query some agents and editors.

Have a wonderful day wherever you are and much love. <3

  1. Yayay, congrats on all the requests! And don't even apologize about the blog tour! Go and live your dream!(: This stuff is way more exciting than a blog tour, haha! Plus, it can come later!

But seriously, congratulations! I'm so stoked for you!
